Through the good time and the bad times, we all have people in our lives with whom we share those moments; friends and family who understand us and our experiences. When you suffer from a chronic illness, your support group is there to Netflix all day or help wash your hair when you’re feeling weak. A strong support system empowers you and helps you face your illness with positivity.
This May, we want to celebrate our support systems, our friends and family, our crew that’s there when no one else seems to be. So, take a moment to give your crew a shout-out and tell us what they do for you.
Share your favorite story, tag 2 friends in a comment on one of our Facebook posts, or, for the ultimate thank you, upload a photo of you together and use the hashtag #MyPHCrew. Your Peer Health Crew has always been there for you, now let’s give them some kudos!
Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing our favorite #MyPHCrew stories. We’ll also post a list of activities you and your crew can do together. To give you a better idea, let me give you a really great example.
Previously, on the PH blog, Madeleine shared with us her experience with herxs in a post aptly titled, “Herxing with the Rock.” If Madeleine wanted to share a #MyPHCrew statement related to this, she could say: “MyPHCrew is my mom. When I’m having a herx, my mom helps me wash my hair.” #LymeDisease.
Simply saying “thank you” is powerful. From helping you manage everyday tasks to helping improve positive outcomes. Gather your crew and let’s reclaim squad goals.
